Why counsel before screening?

One of the most commonly cited reasons patients provide for being screened for cancer is to achieve “peace of mind.” Unfortunately, the traditionally accepted “normal” range of <4.0 ng/mL is not likely to provide reassurance for patients or physicians in the future.
